I
fought the traffic for over an hour.
Destination:
Downtown Houston.
Time
of arrival: extremely unpredictable.
NEVER
get on Interstate 59 during rush hour. And never drive your car
on the weekends. The highway construction crews like to tear up
the freeways on the weekends. They say they are doing this for the
greater good, but they swarm in like locusts, destroy the road and
then you never see them again for the next 6 months. All you see
is all the yellow warning signs and those ubiquitous gray concrete
road blocks. Grrrrrr!!!!
IT
WAS THE WEEKEND and I was going to a convention in downtown Houston.
Did I happen to mention that I don't go downtown during rush hour,
or on weekends, or in early morning, or on holidays, or on anyone's
birthday if their first name starts with the letter A. The traffic
is slower than a worm crossing a 10 lane freeway AND just as dangerous.
I
finally arrived at the hotel, still filled with Road Rage, signed
in at the registration desk and obediently went to the opening lecture.
Since everyone would attend this first lecture, IT WAS ASSUMED,
the big auditorium had been reserved instead of the individual classrooms
where all the other lectures would take place.
THE
FLAMES WERE SHOOTING
I
remember the speaker that night. Everyone probably remembers that
speaker because HE WAS ON FIRE. Flames were shooting out from his
body. It did catch my attention. Normally speakers don't ignite
this way.
Maybe
it was the level of excitement. Maybe he was hot. Maybe I was hallucinating
from lack of food and the hundreds of hours on the freeway trying
to get to the lecture
It
started with a red glow around him and then the glow began to flare
out in places around his body as he spoke. The woman next to me
leaned over and said, "Did you see that?"
I
breathed a sigh of relief. I was not crazy, I was not hyperventilating,
someone else saw the flames, too.
I
smiled back at the woman sitting next to me, and said, "Yes,
I did. I would have to have been blind not to see it."
AURA
I
head someone say, "Look at his aura." Me, I was looking
at his brown suit and that "so-called aura" was quite
distracting. And the color of the red flames clashed with his necktie,
if I do say so myself.
"Aura,
what was an aura?" I was young and naive and had not yet had
a psychic class or even known anyone who was into extrasensory perception
(ESP). I was certainly not used to seeing a man surrounded by flames.
I wanted to stand up, point at him and yell, "Fire!" No
one else in the room seemed concerned.
The
lecture continued. The flames eventually died away. And all was
well with the world again.
This
was my first experience with psychic energy.
I
had never seen anything like it before or even after. I am not sure
where the phrase, "he's all fired up," came from, but
now I understand the origin of what they are talking about. This
was a living example of, "He's on fire," referring to
someone who is really excited about what he is talking about.
MY
MOTHER CALLED ME
"A YELLOW-BELLIED COWARD"
I
went home and told my mother about "the man in flames".
"It
was his aura," she said jumping up out of her chair with excitement.
She ran to her bedroom to get a book she had just read. "Here,"
she said and pushed the book in my face. When the book seemed to
be about ready to snap closed on my nose, I gabbed it out of my
mother's hands.
I
looked at the picture.
The
book said, "Have someone stand against a white wall. Then squint
your eyes and keep staring at the person until you see a color surrounding
their body. That is the aura. What color is it?" Then there
was a list of what all the colors meant.
My
mother threw me against the white refrigerator, squinted, looked
over her pointy nose and proclaimed that I had a yellow aura. "That
was good," she said.
I
was relieved to find out it didn't mean that I was a yellow-bellied
coward.
ENERGY
BODY
The
years past and I studied at the Psychic Studies Institute. I became
an expert at seeing psychic energy, at looking inside the human
body, in doing all types of fantastic things. I tried to relate
the aura to what I had learned.
I
suppose I could say that the human body radiates energy. Maybe that
is what people are describing.
BLACK
AND WHITE
At
the height of my psychic training I only saw energy in white and
black. White was the actual energy, but if energy was lacking, or
a person was sick or blocked then there was black or an absence
of energy.
I
was not a dog, I was certainly capable of seeing in color, but I
guess I was seeing in a more natural form. Maybe it could be that
when I look at energy, I use an entirely different system than sight.
I don't see with my eyes. It took a long time for me to understand
this. When someone in one of my classes would say, "Look at
that." I couldn't see it.
I
kept asking them how to "see," but I never succeeded.
Then one day a friend said to me, "When you see psychically,
you don't use your eyes."
Then
I understood and then I could "see." There are the senses
of sight, hearing, taste, smell and feel and... then there is a
whole other sensing system which sees, hears, smells, tastes and
feels way beyond what your normal senses are able to do.
The
word "extra" means beyond.
The word "sensory" refers to using your senses.
The word "perception," according to Webster, means a mental
image.
Welcome
to the world of "EXTRAsensory perception".
